Original Xbox Main Menu Trailer Compilation Console Exclusives Pt. 2 4K60 (Hype Movies)
Main menu trailers or hype movies as I call them, were trailers that would play when you left the game on the main menu for a minute or so that had oftentimes never been shown anywhere else. With the advent of CDs in the 4th & 5th generations, there was suddenly a lot of extra room on the disc that allowed developers to do things like this. By the 6th generation, nearly every game had a main menu trailer. This started to pitter out during the 7th generation and now it's quite rare indeed for a game to have a main menu trailer. Just another loss from the corporatization of video games. This is the 2nd and for now the final part. This is not a comprehensive list of original Xbox console exclusives, but I think a have a lot of the more notable ones covered here. (Console exclusive means that it may have released on PC, but not on any other console.) Once I acquire more of the original Xbox's library I'll do a part 3. I'll also do a video like this for other consoles in the future. I didn't add what I would consider to be "gameplay demos" as that is a different category of video, so that's why Star Wars Obi-Wan isn't here since it only has a demo and not an actual trailer. All footage was captured by me on original hardware with OEM component cables connected via the RetroTink 5X, then put through the mClassic, recorded in 1080p60 then rendered in 2160p60 because YouTube is bad. The discrepancies in video quality are due to the bitrate at which the videos were put on the disc. Sorry, there's nothing I can do about it. Hope you guys enjoy. This footage has been edited for watchability (aspect ratio was kept) but if you'd like to see the raw footage, here's the link: https://youtu.be/goI7_zuBLag .
