For some reason, I didn't notice the tutorial on the corner left until later. Basically, when you start a new game, you have no choice but to build your
FORESTRY building first. You can't build random buildings as you "ultimately" need those woods plank for future usage. Without wood, you can't continue the game.

Just follow the tutorial and you should be fine.
