No Man's Sky is an action-adventure survival game developed and published by the indie studio Hello Games. It was released worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in August 2016, and for Xbox One in July 2018

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Embark on an epic voyage

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Hey YO EVERYBODY! Today we start the Atlas Quest line! Looks like we are going on an adventure! On the way we find a freighter in distress! However, we are in our shuttle! Should we help?

Freighters are colossal interstellar starships. Players may purchase a freighter using units and customize them using the Base building system, implemented in the Foundation update. Freighters can be transported to other star systems at will and allow players to have more than one starship.

There are several regular freighters with up to 19 slots of inventory and two designs of small, medium, and large visual sizes for capital freighters with up to 34 slots. One of them is reminiscent of the Venator Star Destroyer of the Star Wars universe.

We also try our hand at an expedition!
Expeditions are missions that you can send up to 5 frigates on to gather units and other items. They can be accessed by talking to the navigator standing next to the star map on the bridge of your freighter, and existing expeditions can be managed by visiting the Fleet Command Room assigned to that fleet. Each Fleet Command Room built allows an additional concurrent expedition. Each expedition can take anywhere from 1 to 28 hours in real time, and progress even while the game is not running.

Frigate expeditions are rated in difficulty out of 5 stars. The frigates themselves have 5-star ratings depending on their class and traits. It is recommended that the total star rating of your frigate team is at least 1 star higher than the difficulty of the expedition. If the team rating is equal to the expedition rating there is a chance that the frigates will be damaged, and if the team rating is lower than the expedition, frigate damage is very likely.
