Overclocking Died and No One Noticed...
2,912It feels like overclocking was the hot topic to always take advantage of to boost your graphics card's performance. It seems like a slow shift has taken place. Overclocking is barely mentioned anymore. It has kinda died off and no one has really noticed. Is this for good reason? Should we still be actively thinking about it?
GPU technology has changed significantly in just a few short years so I tested it. It's debatable if I did a great job or not, but I represent an average person that didn't spend hours tuning the absolute perfect settings. I took 4 different GPUs (rx 5700 xt, rx 6700, rx 6800 xt, and rtx 3080), overclocked and undervolted each one. Then, put them up to some games. Let's see what happened...
