Oxygen Not Included Ep 18 | Magma Powered Oil Boiler | Ranching Upgrade
26In this episode of Oxygen Not Included, I am creating a Crude Oil Boiler. The idea behind this device is that we can heat up crude oil, using magma, and boil it to produce natural gas for our Natural Gas Generators. The concept is simple, but the engineering can be a little tricky. The temperature we must deal with are extreme, and whatever we build will be in danger of melting.
To boil the oil, I create a 'hot plate' which is in contact with magma. This hot plate is a tile made out of obsidian, so it won't melt. Then, I can drip oil onto the hot plate and it will heat up and turn into natural gas.
The natural gas will then move along threw a structure so it can cool, and eventually it will each a gas pump to be pumped to a generator for power creation.
