In the GBA version, there's 4 Galaxian Mazes (Only 3 can be accessed), that features certain backgrounds not present in any other instance of the game.
Due of the way the maze layout is obscured out, the player can't see the backgrounds in full detail view. Using an emulator to disable the terrain and foreground makes posible to see certain oddites:

1. The background for the first galaxian maze seems to be similar to the one used in the game's prototype for the forest world boss fight.

2. The BG for the 2nd galaxian maze is the same one originally used in the prototype for the volcano themed stages. Its fully covered by lava so it cannot be seen by normal means.

3. The ice galaxian maze is an intresting one; Due the fact almost the whole maze is covered by ice walls, the background is obscured from view by normal means. If you remove the walls with emulation, is revealed that is really unfinished with even corrupted pallete used. (Most likey because it wasn't intended to be seen by the player)
