In this video I take a look at the latest in the installments for Painkiller. The fast action paced FPS game. On a mission to still reunite with his lover, we see vicious carnage as death asks to collect 7000 souls for payment.
The graphics in Hell & Damnation are respectable, but offer nothing new - with decent animations, textures and lighting, all of which makes a decent DX9 showing.
The gameplay is fast paced, with good solid weapons, however it doesn't do that much new stuff for the series. I have to admit that I do like the mayhem, but the AI isn't really up to scratch, and worse of all, I feel like we've been here several times before.
With that said, the weapons are fun to use, and there is a decent design of the levels. The music is reasonable, but I just can't help but feel it's a difficult title to recommend to some people, with such huge titles on the way. On the other hand, if you're more the fan of traditional FPS titles, or you're wanting a supernatural type of title, painkiller Hell and Damnation could be the way you go.
