(ignore the footage in the background, just something to look at)
The latest development kits have been sent out to various games studios, and apparently the prior kits were basically just the graphics cards. These latest kits are getting closer to the final designs (which are reported to be shown in january of next year).
The system will support the familar HDMI, ethernet ports as well as a fairly impressive for console hardware spec. We'll be seeing 8GB of RAM (possibly 16GB) and of course a Bluray drive. An AMD A10 GPU will apparently be taking care of the processing functions and a 256GB hard drive (I presume it'll be a Solid State Drive, or SSD) will be standard.
Sony are designing the console so that it will be able to play games at the 'magic' 60FPS and maintain the resolution at 1080P, while showing all of this in funky 3d.
Sony nor developers have mentioned a darn thing about the controllers yet, so it's out guess right now if we'll be seeing a Wii U style controller, the traditional Playstation style Dual Shock pad, OR something totally different. As usual, stay tuned to RGT for more!
