Painting Ankh Gods of Egypt Ep. 6 - How to paint the Griffin
To be honest, not too proud of how this miniature came out but I am going to leave it as is. Learn from our mistakes!
So the Griffin is another guardian miniature from CMON Games' Ankh: Gods of Egypt. It is primed with Army Painter Leather Brown as an undercoat and then a white zenital highlight with White primer.
I then used contrast paints, Scale75 Instant Colors and some Valejo inks to try and get this Griffin looking like the artwork.
Let me know what you think.
HISTORICAL INFO:
n ancient Egypt, griffins were typically depicted with falcon heads instead of eagle heads, and as such, likely had associations with the falcon-headed god Horus. They are also shown either wingless or with wings folded. Typically, griffins were shown trampling people under their feet. In such scenes the griffin was meant to represent the triumphal pharaoh defeating his enemies and the enemies of Egypt.
