The Story of Westfall



Westfall is a level 10-20 zone located in the Eastern Kingdoms. Westfall is the second zone of the four starting human leveling zones. Once a fertile land providing food for the Kingdom of Stormwind, Westfall has been rendered fallow following the Second War. Upset with the conditions Stormwind have left Westfall in, the Defias Brotherhood, led by Edwin Vancleef, have taken control of the zone and is hatching plans to invade Stormwind from their lair located in The Deadmines. Determined to maintain control, a group of citizens loyal to Stormwind have risen up and founded the People's Militia, led by Gryan Stoutmantle.



The player's journey through Westfall will ask them to aid the People’s Militia in fighting back against the Defias Brotherhood and assisting family farmers who have been displaced by Brotherhood’s pillaging.


In the spirit of World of Warcraft Classic, my goal is to help immerse the new player in the story of Westfall, being more descriptive of your role in the story rather than outlining exactly where to go for each quest. As always, Wowhead is here to be a guiding hand so I have provided links to the respective quests of the zone should you want more direct assistance.
Quest Hubs
The Furlbrow's


Immediately upon entering Westfall from Elwynn Forest, the player is greeted by the Furlbrows. The Furlbrow’s farm has been overrun by the Defias, malfunctioning harvest watchers, and ravenous wildlife.


Farmer (Theodore) Furlbrow asks the player to recover his pocket watch while his wife, Verna Furlbrow, asks you to bring their horse some oats and deliver a parting gift in the form of a stew recipe to the Saldeans.


Rumor has it Theodore's deed has been stolen by the Defias in Elwynn Forest and he would be eager to see it returned.
Saldean Farm
Trouble has befallen the Saldeans and their family farm. Overrun by aggressive Harvest Watchers, Farmer Saldean enlists your help in reclaiming his farm. His wife, Salma, seems to only be interested in cooking some recipes, both old and new.
Sentinel Hill


Gryan Stoutmantle is mobilizing volunteers willing to fight back against the aggressive Defias Brotherhood from the outpost of Sentinel Hill. The Defias have enlisted the help of Gnolls in their effort to take over the land and they surround Sentinel Hill leaving it dangerously low on supplies and manpower.


Gryan Stoutmantle will ask you to take down the Defias themselves, walking you through the main questline of Westfall. If you're a human, Quartermaster Lewis will ask you to take a message to his contact in Stormwind to help bring back much needed supplies to Sentinel Hill. Scout Galiaan will reward you for simply proving you've taken down some Defias and Captain Danuvin sends you out on patrol to help cull the Gnoll invaders.


Sentinel Hill is the main hub of Westfall and has a flight master, an inn, and vendors for trade goods/arrows. For those interested in professions there is a campfire for cooks and an anvil and forge for miners, blacksmiths and engineers. You'll likely be coming back to Westfall with some frequency between levels 10 to 20 so it is a reasonable place to set your Hearthstone.
