in this video I show how stunning an enemy or parrying their attack get's you an immediate extra turn in battle. The idea here is that when you drain an enemy's Mental Psyche (MP), you can stun them under certain circumstances. basically hitting with the right element. scoring a critical hit can also get an extra turn, but it won't stun. Parrying is somewhat like fighting games, you hit the direction the attack is coming from and you'll negate the attack and earn "frame advantage" or in rpg terms a 1 MORE action like the persona games.

Each special move has an input tied to it like fighting games. except getting them wrong doesn't cancel the move, you just get the regular version of it that doesn't cost anything. like a normal special move in a fighting game. however, getting the command right spends MP, but you'll get a bonus like increased damage, increased healing, buffs, debuffs to the enemy, etc... basically turning the moves into EX moves by fighting game logic.

Lastly is the 1-Up system... 1-Up's add in your offense and defense. on offense, they can allow for combo attacks. on defense, you can do one of three things depending on the amount of 1-Up's you have. 1 = free guard (instead of using a standard guard, which takes a turn). 2 = parry. and 3 = dodge and counter. each serving a purpose. but you'll have to decide, do you want them to do more damage or take less/no damage.
