Panic Bomber Game Sample - Virtual Boy
Original Air Date: July 13th, 2009
Also known as Tobidase! Panibomb, this is a Bomberman puzzle title. While there are several games in the "Panic Bomber" series, this is the only one that would ever be released outside Japan... for the ill-fated Virtual Boy. We actually own the U.S. and Japanese version of this game, but I don't know if there are any differences between the two (besides the language).
It's basically Columns with a twist. The object is to match three objects vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Doing so will net you some unlit bombs. Every so often, you'll get a lit bomb. Use the lit bomb to detonate other bombs in the area, which will send junk on the opponents side. You can also get "Decker" bombs which do lots of damage and clear many objects from your screen, as well as the dreaded "Skull" of Bomberman fame. Its effects vary from kinda good to bad.
The game has a basic plot, about a dozen opponents to battle, and several levels of challenge. For all intents and purposes, it's a good puzzle game. We'll be attempting to record some samples of the audio from either version of the game, whichever is easier, though I don't think either has a sound test. Enjoy.
