Panic Continued After Hotfixes | ALIEN: ROGUE INCURSION [Steam PCVR] | EP 02
It's been several months since my debut episode and the devs have released some hotfixes and patches. Additionally, I've upgraded my graphics card. Will this game play any better? Will the game improvements make the experience more enjoyable?
~ Summary of hotfix/patch impressions ~
Pros:
-Patches and hotfixes since launch have helped performance
-Alien encounters are now not as predictable, increasing tension
-Option to remove weapon sway is an improvement
-Option to disable Auto-ADS is an improvement
Cons:
-Still needs more optimization, which is in community agreement
Complaints:
-I wish I could carry more ammo at a time
-Davis is late with his comments to be alert when attacked
-Zulu talks and complains too much
I tested this game again post hotfixes with both my Nvidia 3080 and AMD 7900 XTX. Performance is improved even on my 3080 but the 7900 XTX is a welcomed improvement with the increase from 10 GB to 24 GB of VRAM plus extra raw horsepower. I can now run 90hz at a higher resolution. Even while recording I'm still able to enjoy this with minor performance impact. It could still use some more optimization - it's just especially difficult to record. Seems to run best through the link cable setup. Virtual Desktop is a no-go, even with my new Wifi 6 setup I got as an option going forward. I look forward to going back through again on my own to soak in the lore.
