Description: I tend to have a "take pain and make art" mentality, and I was feeling a lot of pain on Veteran's Day; so, I wrote this poem to express the pain, sadness, and fear that was brought to the metaphorical surface of my memory. I do not miss having to wonder if, not when, my father would come home, and I recognize that it's a fear that countless other people had to grow up with as well.
