Part 42 of a video walkthrough for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the Gamecube. In this part, Michael plays the game for another hour.

Day 3 of the train ride on the Excess Express begins, with everyone besides Mario and the engineer being taken by the Smorg. Mario fights the Smorg monsters and saves everyone, then the train arrives safely at Poshley Heights.

Our heroes go to Poshley Sanctum, which is run by Pennington. They arrive just in time to see the bad guys steal a crystal star. Fortunately, they didn't steal the REAL crystal star; they stole the fake one which was set up for display purposes only. Pennington is happy to give the real crystal star to Mario.

Meanwhile, TEC has processed the information he got from Sir Grodus. Grodus has some grody plans in mind for Princess Peach, so TEC decides the best thing to do is help Peach escape from the moon base. Before this can happen, Grodus appears and resets the computer, destroying TEC's personality.

Bowser has a scene, in which he predictably fails in an attempt to get a crystal star.

Mario and his crew return to Rogueport, where it is confirmed that the next crystal star is on the X-Naut moon base. In Rogueport, Mario gets his last upgrade of the game: the Ultra Hammer.
