Explanation: The game has to register Mario as not next to the Punies for them to leave Mario's party. Mario has to be on the ground for a short amount of time to do so. So, if we keep jumping all the way to the pipe, the game will never kick the Punies out of our party.

Tutorial: To do this trick, go down the stairs and loop around the rightmost column. When you go in between the 1st and 2nd columns, start jumping and keep jumping for the rest of the trick. It's not frame perfect, but try to stay airborne as much as you can. From there, continue jumping and make your way across the pillars. You can run on the ground for a short amount of time to build speed for jumps in between the pillars. Continue jumping on top of the pipe, where eventually one of your jumps will be read as a pipe entry input and you will be able to complete the room successfully.
