Paradox Interactive and HOI4 - How not to do Multiplayer (RANT)
5,135First of all to clear up this is mostly a rant and coming from a point of frustration. Also it's to show all the regular viewers of this channel how much is actually cut out from normal videos when it comes to the instability of the multiplayer game. Sometimes it's very hard to have a stable game in HOI4 and other Paradox games like CK2 or EU4. The games are amazing and they are even better in multiplayer, but all of that is ruined by the instability of the system as a whole. All the desyncs, hotjoins and crashes really ruin the flow of the game and often make people give up. This has been an ongoing trend with Paradox's games for years and years now. Yes we are aware this was in a mod but this kind of stuff still happens in vanilla and happens all the time in other games. It seems like Paradox's engine fails Multiplayer in HOI4 and all of their other games. I'm not a programmer, I don't know how to fix it. But it always pains me to look at other games who can easily handle all this traffic in their MP games, meanwhile Paradox's games still struggle with it and have broken MP in 2020. This is obviously more of a rant and not an organized, actual critique. It's gathered from content of multiple streams and clips, so please take it more of as a rant and keep in mind that I love these games but the multiplayer is often crippled with issues.
