Paramount Hit With TOP GUN Copyright Lawsuit From Original Article Heirs
0Top Gun: Maverick has done really well at the Box Office. In fact, it had one of the lowest Second Weekend Drop Offs of a Major Motion Picture. However, Paramount allegedly lost the rights to Top Gun before the movie came out. Shosh and Yuval Yonay, the heirs of Ehud Yonay who wrote the article "Top Guns" back in 1983, filed a suit against Paramount in a California Federal Court. The heirs are alleging that they filed a Copyright Termination Notice and Paramount willingly ignored it. Paramount is alleging that the article itself can't be protected by copyright because it falls under a "Factual Work". Who's in the right here? We will have to wait and see
