Whats up guys, Im Tatiana Diana and Ive got the latest with Paramount!

Weve just learned that Paramount pictures is launching a new, in-house animation division which is aiming to release its first official title in 2014!

So far, Paramount has relied on Jeffrey Katzenberg's Dreamworks Animation, with whom they have a distribution deal to fill the animation slots on its release schedule. However, Dreamworks deal with Paramount expires at the end of 2012 so this seems like a perfect next step for the studio!

In announcing the new division, Paramount chairman & CEO Brad Grey said the initiative was part of the studio's long-term strategy for growth. He also said that Paramount Animation will focus on high quality animation with budgets of up to $100 million per picture.

Rango, the animated Western which was released in March, was the studio's first full-owned CGI animated movie, and it grossed more than $240 million worldwide so we are confident Paramount will just keep putting out solid flicks...maybe even more often now that they have an in house studio!

What kind of animated film would you like to see as Paramount's first, in house produced flick be? Let us know by commenting below and be sure to stay here on clevver movies for more movie news!
