Paris slice of life: Underground from the metro heading to the Louvre | Amazing street performer
2I was in Paris in 2015. I loved this street performer! She was there the next day without her dog, and I had learned a bit of French using the Duolingo app, enough to ask her, "Ou est la chien?" And she replied in French with some miming that her dog had stayed home that day to sleep :)
The metro is a great way to get around the right bank of Paris, but it really doesn't cross the Seine, so you can't ride it on the left bank, where the Eifel Tower, etc, is. The metro stop for the Louvre lets you out right under the museum, and the first day I visited, I was able to enter quickly from that entrance. The second day was busier, and they made everyone enter through the front door, which took much longer. If you are able to enter from the metro, you will get in much quicker, and then you can just exit out the front and see the view, with the glass pyramid!
There is a shopping center under the Louvre, as well, easily accessible from the route I take in the video, which even has a McDonald's. Pretty crazy!
