Started a new play through. No mic just a chill astroneer video of me starting again.

Tips that might be useful in your play through in no particular order),

1. Stick packagers to vehicles and shuttles rather than use up vehicle slots. This also works with Dynamite but be careful.

2. When planning to make a base on new planets dont put the oxygenator on the small shuttle. Instead use the shelter oxygenator and put that in the shuttle. Then put the oxygenator back into the shelter. Finish the mission "To Parts Unknown"and take the field shelter reward.

3. What to take to your first planet.
1 or 2 platforms (I use Medium T-platform).
Power (solar, wind, QT RGT).
Oxygen (field shelter or oxygenator packaged).
1 or 2 Batteries.
Portable Smelting Furnace. (If you have one, found in backpacks but rare to find).
Fill your back with,
3 Resin
A Small Printer
A Medium Printer (packaged)
Drill Mod
Wide Mod (optional)
1 Clay
2 Aluminium
1 Copper
Soil Canister.

4. Package up a thruster that is below 100% and is 25% or above. When you re-open it it will be 100% again.

5. When I land on new worlds i look for the landing site closest to a purple "temple" and i walk all the way to it and create my base outside the temple.

6. Landing pad are only required for shuttles to land. You can pick up a shuttle and move it off the landing pad to let other shuttles land. You do not need a landing pad to take off but if you create a base far away from a landing zone you will have to land and walk to your base.

6. Infinite bites.
You will need an atmospheric condenser and a research chamber. Put them both on 1 plate and Set the atmospheric condenser off and the research chamber. The research chamber will keep researching the gas the atmospheric condenser makes. * you will need 20 units of power per atmospheric condenser, 2 units per research chambers and any auto arms if you use them. Thus 1 plate is easier (XL Platform C).
(other infinite methods are avaliable using seeds but the best is gas on glacio).

7. Trains.
Stations are not required for trains to run.
Rail posts need to be connected to your base for power and oxygen and can be connected to other bases you have on the world.
Trains run with out rail engines but run slower.
Recommended building the railway because you can carry a lot of resources and its quicker to get back to base than driving or walking.
Put the rail posts in one of your top slots on your backpack. Its easier to lay them using Bumpers or C/V. Be careful in placing them as once they have veen places they will destroy all the soil in the way.


8. Practice with the terain tool, especially the level one. its brilliant for making ramps and bridges. (dont have any wide or narrow modes to make the soil go further).

9. Always carry a soil canister and drill mod (doesnt matter if soil canister is empty) as you must have one to build ramps or to get out of holes (drill mod may also be required). I carry 2 so its easy to fill up the soil centrifuge.

10. When placing tethers or tracks place them as far away from each other when possible, this will reduce the amout of resources needed.

11. Why i landed on calidor over desolo when going for tungsten.
A. Calidor is high sun and its easy to find solar panels and if your super lucky you can find a working solar array (worth 14 units). However the nights are long and i never have enough batteries.
B. It has high copper, tungsten, and sulfur which ill need later in the game.
C. personal preference but it doesnt matter which planet you go to. Desolo also has the MAT quest for the hover board, (needs 2 copper, 2 aluminium alloy, 2 zinc and 2 plastic). You will need to bring copper from another planet as it cannot be found on desolo. Plastic and aluminium alloy can be made on desolo if you bring copper.

12. Recommended all small scientific research be researched in research chamber because you will receive more bites than if you scan it.

13. Personally i never use large platform A because large platform B is much better.
