To celebrate Fire Emblem 7 coming for the Switch in June, I decided I wanted to revisit this classic Fire Emblem game, but with a twist. The original Japanese version of Fire Emblem 7 was very different from the localization we got in the West, as it was dumbed down because the Japanese considered us too stupid for Fire Emblem. Here are some of the changes in the Japanese version of the game.

-Bosses have higher stats
-Gates & Thrones provide bigger bonuses
-You have less gold in the early game
-The endgame is much harder
-Effective damage is tripled
-Lyn is 15 years old

Ironmanning Fire Emblem 7 on Hector Hard Mode without going Lyn mode first is already quite a challenge, and it took me many tries before I was able to do it. Can I repeat this with the much harder, Japanese version? Let’s find out! In case you don't know, an Ironman is a playthrough of a Fire Emblem game where you cannot load saves. Any characters who die are gone for good. If I get a Game Over I have to restart from the beginning.
