The Maelstrom of Chaos is one of the unique end game maps in Path of Exile - specifically a unique version of the level 67 Mountain Ledge map. It's based on the ledge zone during the Maelstrom of Chaos endgame during closed beta - a bit of an homage if you will.

The Maelstrom of Chaos Mountain ledge map features:
- Area has patches of chilled ground
- Monsters deal 50% extra Damage as Lightning
- Monsters are immune to randomly chosen elemental status ailments or stun
- Monsters' Melee Attacks apply random Curses on Hit
- Monsters reflect Curses
- (200 to 400)% increased Rarity of Items found in the Map
- (40 to 60)% Increased Item Quantity

The Boss is a Slightly Modified Version of Merveil - the Act 1 Boss.
