UPDATE: You can throw bags at the AI, and they will auto carry it on their back, and then you can easily take it from them as well.
This is to highlight in my opinion the biggest issue with the game in single player mode, in that you can't command your AI to do simple tasks like carry money to the truck. So you have to do all the work.
