Hello YouTube! SSGL here with our first non-campaign vid of Descent 3, in which I have to admit, my opponent was surprisingly tough, considering the complexities of ship controls!

Anarchy is Descent 3's equivalent of Deathmatch. There's also Team Anarchy, Hyper Anarchy, Robo Anarchy, Hoard, Capture the Flag and the complex Entropy.

It's our first time on this map from the Havoc map pack. Typically, Descent 3 maps come packed with all kinds of pick ups, unless restrictions are made in the custom menus. This game features a wide variety of weapons and equipment, which can be divided into six categories.

The weapons: Primaries (cannons), Secondaries (warheads) and Tetiaries (countermeasures).

The equipment: Add-ons (Afterburner Cooler, Converter), power ups (Rapid Fire, Cloaking Device, Invulnerability) and supplies (shields and energy).

The Guide Bot and it's respective power ups are available only in the campaign.

This particular map turned out to be made of a single huge room to which several large caves are connected. Such spacy environments make the Vauss Cannon and Mass Driver become more versatile, due to their insane bullet times. Any warhead with homing capabilities too.

More cramped situations with tight tunnels and passages make other weapons more useful, particularly, the dreaded Fusion Cannon.

I certainly remember the game's gattling gun, the Vauss Cannon, being a pain in the bun back in my online days. Had to resort to hit-and-run tactics against Vauss users. My connection was always on the average range. Trying to duel with such players who typically had 2-digit, and in rare occasions, single-digit pin connections was doom to failure. 😦
