249Time for another hidden gem on the PCEngine! My first pilot episode of Shmup Junkie Theater where I choose a Japanse video game with loads of cut scenes and create my own bad dubs for your amusement. This week featuring a hidden gem, Download on the PC Engine by NEC Avenue. Lots of gameplay, music, and a brief game review while doing funny reenactments of cut scenes the way I interpreted them.

Many of us grew up playing Japanese import games that never released in our country, and many of the games, especially with advent of the CD game, had loads of story and cut scenes. That we couldn't understand! So we would make up our own stories of what was going on. And I'd often be playing with friends, so we would sit there, Mystery Science Theater style, and just pop off whatever came to our minds while watching them. And with a couple of 12 year old minds, you can imagine how quickly things degraded from there.
