Finally! The Ultimate Nintendo Switch Controller Shootout has arrived! Want to know which Switch controller to buy based on actual lag performance? This comparison is for you. Over a dozen gamepads, arcade sticks, and more all lag tested for your viewing pleasure. Bluetooth, 2.4g, Wired, Wireless, Arcade Sticks, Boards and Converters.

A month ago, I lag tested the official Nintendo Switch Joycon to debunk a myth. That playing in direct handheld mode is faster than table top and docked to a TV. And my test results showed that not to be the case, getting near identical results for all modes. But the bigger problem still remained. The DPad on the Joycon is no good for shmups and other classic games. So I set out to find which gamepads and arcade sticks on the Switch, from brands like Hori, Retrobit, 8Bitdo, Brooke, and more... perform the best.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION: The first pad tested is the Retrobit GENESIS Bluetooth controller (Blue). I incorrectly labeled it the Retrobit Saturn pad in the video, even though the image I show is the correct Genesis pad. The white pad tested with it, is the Saturn 2.4g, but the Blue controller is the Genesis Bluetooth variant. The internals are near identical, and I am in process of testing the Saturn variant. I will update this section once I've confirmed performance. The link and image is correct, but my label in the video is not.

Lag results are not the only important factor in a controller choice. A poor pad, like the Joycon, is a poor pad. A great pad with slow performance, isn't a good solution either. Take a look and see if your favorite controller smashes the competition,
or if it lags more than you'd prefer. And let me know in the comments what other controllers you'd like to see as I am keeping a list.
