PC Hardware - Stress Testing NTFS - 3.6 Million Files & Folders - Takes 38 Hours to See Properties

3.6 million folders, each with a 0 byte file. Which took up 7.58 GB (not 5 GB as video shows) of 12.6 GB drive.
I wonder if "Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties" -- Windows search indexing -- had a lot to do this with. If so, it shows how Windows really slows down the fundamentally usage of our drives.
Stats:
- Took 4 minutes to start listing "dir /w"
- Took 1.3 minutes more to list "dir /w"
- Took 14 hours for select all, right-click, properties to popup.
- Was going to take 24 hours for properties to populate... so I stopped recording.
