The Surge 2 is overall a huge improvement on almost every aspect compared to the first game. The combat is much more fluid and responsive, with the newly added parry system it makes combat much more dynamic and fun. There are also 3 newly added weapon type one of which i used through out my game and it is the spear. Not only new weapons types were added we have tons of new weapons as well for you to collect. The environment is interconnected to a degree beyond even Darksouls, where most maps have only one medic-station (aka. bonfires), but it is designed in such a way that you will find shortcuts back to the same medic-station.

My big complaint with the game is that even with new weapons added the executions are same for every weapon type. If we could more variations on movesets and executions via weapons instead of weapon type then it would make combat even more engrossing. My second complaint with the game is you revisit maps way too much, in fact in this game you have a total of 7 areas to explore but the game makes you replay through 4 of them 3 times, each with environmental changes, but it is still the same overall. Lastly the game for me runs smoothly but i did experience 2 crashes after roughly 8 hrs of play, and a lot of other people are experiencing bad performance.

In conclusion The Surge 2 is a great improvement over its predecessor and provide a rough 16hrs of playtime, more if you finish all quests and collect all collectible, I would give this game a 7/10 with it barely reaching the 7 mark, so a 7-/10 lol
