So here we are with the first real major challenges of peaks of yore, the advanced book has 5 mountains in total but they all tower over anything done previously, but this is where I really fell in love with the game, the length of these mountains makes them become super stressful and nerve wracking which I love. Doing these itemless certainly makes them a lot harder than with crampons or ropes, but they are not totally outrageous, they just force you to follow the entire intended path, but it makes the climbs much longer than they would be with all the crampon jumps.

Walkers pillar is sorta just a brief introduction into the taller mountains but its not too tough.

Great Gaol was the first mountain to really stump me, it's super long and has many difficult sections where falling off means its all over, the birds can be nasty too, it took me around 2 hours of attempts to climb.

Eldenhorn is the hardest mountain in this book for me, the constant steep angle means falling in most places everything is over and you cannot catch anything, it also makes all the jumps difficult cos of the overhang angle you are jumping at, very scary last section with crumbly rocks too, it took me around 3-4 or so hours of attempts to climb.

St Haelga is a really tall standing mountain but the climb for the most part isn't too difficult, only the nose section with it's overhangs is very difficult, that aside its just a long way up, took around 1.5 hours to climb.

Ymir's Shadow was shockingly, quite a simple mountain, it is really tall, but the climb is almost entirely upwards, and there isn't any particularly difficult sections, just a long and scary climb for a long time, it only took me 40 minutes in total to climb which wasn't too bad.
