Peggle 2, created by PopCap Games and published by Electronic Arts, is a casual puzzle video game and the official sequel to Peggle (2007). Peggle 2's objective is to clear 25 orange pegs using 10 balls shot from a top-screen cannon. The board also has 72 blue pegs, two green pegs, and a moving purple peg. Hitting a green peg activates the "masters" power on the next or current shot. A multiplier feature boosts the player's score based on peg hits, starting at "x1" and progressing to "x2," "x3," "x5," and "x10." Blue pegs are worth 10 times orange peg points, and purples are worth 50 times.
A free ball bucket at the bottom provides an extra ball if the original falls in. Additional free balls are earned through scoring milestones. Clearing all orange pegs triggers "Extreme Fever," granting five "Fever buckets" and points based on the shot's location. Pegs are worth x20 during Fever. Leftover balls in the "Balljector" yield an extra 10,000 points.
The game includes Trial Mode with varied level goals, and multiplayer supports online "peg parties" for up to four players or local gameplay for two. The host can customize parameters like board map, timer, orange pegs, green pegs, and rounds. Missing an orange peg deducts 25% of total points. While Peggle 2 received praise for new features, characters, visuals, and soundtrack, some criticized its similarity to its predecessors.
