This video is me recently discovery a trick on to get the Guardian or Sea Guardian with only using one bait. Just make sure you completed quest 60 (Guardian) before attempting to the Sea Guardian. Another thing you must have quest 15 (Sea Guardian) from Ema the Fox activated. And then you must talk to the old man that at the Riverbank in Samegawa Flood Plain. If you don't talk to the old man, then the Sea Guardian won't spawn. Based on various forums, try to catching the Guardian or Sea Guardian when the weather isn't sunny. For the trick to work, you basically have to throw the bait in the water and reeling in the bait until you see the crazy ripples.
