Persona 5 Review - Stole My Heart (Feat. SnicketySlice)
45Persona 5 is really good. Big thanks to SnicketySlice, attorney at Persona, for helping me out. As mentioned in the video, here is my rationale for the totally official Persona 5 waifu tier list:
Futaba: The best girl! Not only is she relatable, but she’s a certified genius. To top it all off, her character arc was one of the most heart wrenching and satisfying in the game. Also, I’m a sucker for her mannerisms.
Makoto: A close second. The game definitely ships her with Joker hard. She’s smart but still rash at times when she gets overwhelmed. My main complaint is that her social link story was shit and why Futaba pulled ahead.
Tae: This one comes down to taste; I’ve got a thing for punk girls and doctors. She is kind of hard to read at first, but her heart is always in the right place.
Haru: Everything that Snickety said in the video. My main complaint is a lot of her character growth happens off camera and you’re lead to fill in the blanks. I also thought her grieving period wasn’t capitalized on well at all. I was a big fan of her social link though.
Kawakami: An interesting confidant definitely. Her time-saving skills come in clutch. However, I’m just not a fan of the teacher fetish. Also, I hated her maid outfit/portrait
Chihaya: Solid all around but not great, plus she even gives you back your yen (unlike Kawakami). However, I found her charming, but a little forgettable.
Ann: Essentially your stupid, sex appeal character. Once the rest of the cast gets introduced, Ann just gets carried around without contributing much.
Hifumi: I had to Google her name. She’s completely forgettable and basically a worse version of Yukiko from Persona 4.
Ohya: I hate her character design. Her whole social link combines the honest, unappreciated journalist trope with the detective trying to avenge their partner trope. It doesn’t really work that well imo.
