Part 100: Yaldabaoth, the God of Control
Difficulty: Medium
And now we reach this point. In all seriousness, I want to thank you guys for all your support. To think that a game like this would reach 100 parts. That is an accomplishment personally.
But anyway time for this boss fight. If this was vanilla Persona 5, then this would be the final boss but it's not. First off you face the Holy Grail but this time the objective is to sever the veins. Have one of your party members try to cut the veins. While this happens, have all your units attack and I do mean attack. Once your party member cuts the veins then it's go time. Give it all you have and the Holy Grail will shatter and break.
It's then we learn of it's true form, Yaldabaoth. The God of Control. Truth is, it's called Yaldabaoth the Demiurge. In Gnostic teachings, the Demiurge is known as an inferior “evil” god that created the world who also appears as the “God” of the Old Testament. This being is responsible for the events that would lead to Persona 5/P5R.
The boss fight is the same as in the original but with one difference: the Sword of Conviction repels Gun. Other than that, no changes. It does have 15,000 HP. It'll unleash attacks so use this opportunity to boost your party via stat buffing moves. If you have Yoshitsune, follow the Charge then Hassou Tobi combo. With increased attack, the damage can be insane. As the fight progresses, he will unleash four different deadly sins. They represent the four battles you fought in the game.
First is the Gun of Execution, representing Kamoshida and it'll likely hit Ann. When that happens, it'll inflict Lust causing a unit to lose a turn. Have them defend instead of attack. It also repels gun and wind.
Second is the Bell of Declaration, representing Madarame and when it hits a unit via Distorted Vanity, it'll be weak to all affinities for 1 turn. This can also affect bosses too. It repels Fire and Psy.
Third is the Sword of Conviction, representing Kaneshiro. It repels Physical, Gun and Electricity. In the original P5, it only repels Phy and Elec. It will use Distorted Gluttony which doubles the cost of using Skills for 1 turn. Recommend that you take the defensive and not attack. It will help a lot.
Fourth is the Book of Commandments, representing Wakaba. It repels Ice and Nuke. It can unleash Distorted Wrath and that will boost an enemy's attack at the expense of defense.
If you wonder about the order of Sins, they consist of Lust, Vanity, Gluttony, Wrath, Greed, Envy and Pride. They represent the seven bosses you fought on your journey. Gun has Lust and Avarice. Bell has Vanity and Envy. Sword has Gluttony. Book has Wrath and Pride.
Watch out though because he'll use Divine Apex to charge up for a powerful attack. If you destroy all four of his weapons, the Rays of Control's damage will be reduced. It can be a tough fight but nothing you can't handle. After you drain his health, he'll unleash Rays of Control on you.
What follows is a cutscene where the Phantom Thieves will keep on fighting even when the odds are against them. Morgana eventually goes to say that we'll take back the world. It gets the attention of the public who start cheering for the Phantom Thieves. Many of the people we met on our journey do the same and ultimately it's enough to get the Phantoms attention.
Eventually this allows Joker to awaken his true Persona: Satanaiel. After you are healed, all you do next is use Sinful Shell and take him out. That's all there is. This is how the Phantom Thieves not only save Christmas but also the world. This also causes Mementos and the Human World to separate and Morgana to disappear.
Is it the end? Not really. There's still much to do. We'll continue on in Part 101 but don't worry. There'll be a video showing all the Christmas dates and that one will take a long while. Believe me.
