Ben Reilly is not an egotistical hero, despite what Marvel Editorial would have you believe for the new Dark Web and Chasm storyline they're shoehorning the character into.

He's a man who's had everything taken from him more than once and yet he still gets back up at the end of the day and calls Peter the better hero - despite Peter's pretty awful attitude towards Ben at this point due to their arguments over who is or isn't the clone between them.

Say what you will about the Spider-Man Clone Saga, but you can't deny that the writing of the characters within is stellar. I love reading about the relationships between Peter Parker, Ben Reilly, Mary Jane Watson, and the wonderful cast of characters that were unfortunately dropped after Marvel decided we'd had enough of Ben and the world writers like JMD had painstakingly created.

It's a shame we'll probably never get Ben working at the Daily Grind again.
