Shortly after, they meet Preston, Lumpy, Jimmy, and Bruce Baxter, who are crossing a bridge, but they are attacked by a Vastatosaurus Rex. Lumpy is torn to pieces, Jimmy and Baxter fall into a canyon, but Preston makes it to the other side. Jack is separated from Carl and Hayes, who tell him to continue looking for Anne. Jack eventually finds Anne, but she is kidnapped by the Terapus Mordax. Kong comes to their aid and saves Anne. Jack continues his journey into the canyon, where he sees a herd of migrating brontosaurus, and also fights a megapode and a scorpiopede in the surrounding caves. Jack skillfully navigates around the brontosaurus, finding fire to clear their way, being chased by a Venatosaurus the entire way. The V-Rex attacks the sauropods while Jack returns with fire, and the three escape just in time. In the forest, they rescue Jimmy, who is attacked by a Venatosaurus. They eventually board a raft, where Jimmy tells the group that everyone else is dead. After escaping the Skull Islanders, The team is chased down the rapids by two V-Rexes. Their weapons are unable to harm the predators, and as the rapids turn into a slow-moving river, the team is doomed. However, Kong arrives just in time with Ann in hand, letting the team know that she is still alive. Kong fights back and kills the V-Rexes.
