Would you guys like to see Toby Maguire return as Spider-Man?
Sony have recently been in talks about a future Spider-Verse movie!!
Spider-Man has enjoyed varying degrees of success on the big screen up to now. While the first two Sam Raimi adaptations are still regarded as groundbreaking movies in the genre, Sony's overstuffed third installment and Andrew Garfield's more recent reboot failed to live up to expectations, halting plans to create an extended Spider-Verse that Sony hoped would rival Marvel's.
It was hard not to perceive Sony's plans with at least some skepticism. After all, the idea of creating spin-offs surrounding the Sinister Six and Venom were somewhat questionable but now the Venom 2018 movie has been confirmed and to star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock!
Whether Marvel's vision will incorporate Sony's previously proposed spin-offs or try something new is unclear, but it's hard to deny that Spider-Man’s future with the studio is looking very bright indeed. Tom Holland in Spider-Man Homecoming looks "Spectacular" and will hopefully make the studios secure future Spidey movies! We would love to see Marvel & Sony bring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back somehow as alternate Spider-Men in a huge Spider-Verse Movie crossover, perhaps even with Miles Morales (Donald Glover?) along side them.
