Phantasy Star 1 Final Boss: Dark Falz
1So after that absolute endurance test Dark Falz is obviously a joke right? no not really.
Difficulty: 8.5/10
Dark Falz is far and away the strongest boss in the game but there's a handful of things that keep him from being the hardest. Primarily because while he can double attack and never miss his attacks can only hit one person at a time. However that attack has a comically large damage range because it could barely scratch a character dealing about 5 damage or it could do well over 100 damage. So it's sorta like Blood 2 in that aspect.
On top of all that this boss doesn't show his health bar but he has over 400 HP making him far and away the tankiest opponent in the game. Thankfully unlike Lassic he doesn't have an absurdly high evasion rate so you can fairly consistently hit him.
But honestly this fight isn't as bad as Lassic because it's not an endurance test. The Governors Mansion is basically a 5 minute sprint to the end and one you beat Dark Falz the ending plays so there's no worries about going all out against the final boss.
One last thing to note is there is an extra cutscene should you kill Dark Falz but Alis was already dead during the battle. The voice of her brother Nero will tell her to get up and keep on living.
