This is the prototype version of the cutscene where you meet up with Rune, who's name is Rein here. I guess that's what they were going with at first. Thray would not have fit into the name box anyway. I'm glad they chose Rune instead. It's much better for a wizard.

You'll notice that unlike in the final version where Alys never mentions Chaz's name yet Rune calls him by it anyway, here she does mention it beforehand. Had they kept that line in then things would be a little less awkward. At 0:50 Chaz utters a bizarre line after his intelligence is insulted by Rune; "You... terd!"

I have absolutely no idea what this is supposed to mean. Turd? Bastard? A really bad translation of something else?

Hahn's lines about Alshline make him sound like he's he's a little out of it. But nothing really tops the hilarity of "You... terd!"

Rune still makes fun of Chaz's name, saying it's cheap-sounding instead of stupid. Cheap-sounding isn't really rude enough for Mr. Sarcastic Wizardpants anyway. But at least he actually knew Chaz's name beforehand here. I have read that in the original it was an issue with how Japanese language works that made the final look like it had a mistake. So why didn't they keep the "fix" for us English speakers here?
