Some years ago a number of Sega Genesis game prototypes were leaked onto the internet. Including several prototype English translations of Phantasy Star 4. This is the earliest one, dated May 30th 1994. It contains some weird differences in script and character names. For instance Alys' original name was Lyla. Here she is called Ryre. And Chaz is still Rudy ect... There is a lot of engrish and some obvious transliterations. So the translation is still in a rough state. As you can see from this intro the wording is very awkward.
