Phantasy Star IV Purgatory #33 - Alys
54Phantasy Star IV Purgatory is a hack created by The Komrade. Compared to the Hell Mode hack, Purgatory makes all enemies immune to all negative status effects, including instant death. In return, characters with useless skills affected by Purgatory's changes get new skills to replace them. On top of all this, some skills and equipment got buffed. Most importantly though, the enemy difficulty gets a massive boost.
I'm playing on the version of the Purgatory hack which doubles EXP & Meseta gained from battle to help reduce the time I need to spend grinding when it is needed.
You can head over to romhacking.net and do a quick search to download whichever version of the hack you wish to play. ROM file will need to be found on your own though.
After the hell I went through with Sa-Lews, this fight proves to be a much needed refresher, even if Chaz is fighting this boss solo.
First thing he needs to do is use the Power Shield to boost his attack. From there, he should alternate between Nares & Crosscut until she folds. Her attacks aren't one shotting wonders, but she is going to get the first strike for each round of combat most likely, meaning you'll need to heal a round in advance to ensure your survival.
At least Chaz gets Megid after this fight (And boy is it good for him!).
