My Review of Phantom Breaker Omnia:
First I would like to say...THANK YOU ROCKET PANDA GAMES for bringing this game to the U.S.! I always wanted more people here to try the game out and now it is a reality. This game has 3 fighting styles that cater to the all around, the heavy hitter, and the quickness type of players. Although L and White Mikoto are stuck at one style (L being quick and W. Mikoto being heavy) this game is beginner friendly! It is so easy to form your own combos and command inputs aren't complicated at all! The parry mechanic and emergency mechanic helps make the game differentiate from casual to competitive play and my goodness it feels great to punish opponents when either they spam the same move or try to gauge distance. There aren't much modes in this game and challenge mode has been moved to Story Mode BUT, the annoying aspect of doing them solely to unlock characters like Kurisu is GONE! Everyone is unlocked from the start along with the 2 new fighters that are fun to use. Online does not have rollback and I hope it changes because rollback can legitimately increase a playerbase and helps with self appreciation for hard work. (i.e. low chance of complaining that he/she lost due to bad connection). Story mode surprised me with most characters having multiple endings! I really like that, but there are things you must know to get all the endings. One is that sometimes you need to lose and then retry to get the other endings. ALSO BIG TIP! When you play Cocoa and you can't figure out a way to 100% her, you need to lose the battle right before you face M and progress from there. Overall this game is great and for the price of it being under 40 bucks I believe it's a good pickup to play with friends. I would recommend this!
