You may be asking yourself, "Self, what the F is Philosophy Time with Bob and why is Bob doing it, and what exactly is going on here? And what do tropical fruits have to do with it all?"

A very good question.

Oh, you were expecting an answer? LOL! Watch the video.

Ultimately, our worldview, our philosophy, determines how we treat nature and human beings. Our wants and desires typically dictate our philosophy - we decide on what we want and then adjust our worldview to accommodate what we want. Probably that is not how it should be, but it is the way it usually is. Our wants and desires often reflect what our peers, our milieu, our society actually values (rather than what it might give 'lip service' to). If the desires of others in your surroundings are f'd up, your values might be too, and hence your philosophy and the way you treat nature and human beings. To the extent that there is an antidote to this, it is to think, question, analyze and criticize your own philosophy and question your own values and those of your society.

I actually have a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, so even though you may know me as "that KSP guy," I do have other sides to my personality. ;)

I give poor Rene Descartes a bit of guff in this video, read about him.

"Cartesian dualism" would be Descartes point of view on mind and body. The more prevailing worldview today would be something like "post-Cartesian monism".

One group of alternate worldviews:

All opinions expressed are my own. Mango is a kitten and hence adds only ironic content to this video.
