Phoenix Point Gameplay | Exploring The Geoscape And Fighting Mutants
Phoenix Point is heading to PC this year (Epic Games Store for now, Steam-pals)so we sat down to play the latest build and talk through the latest features with Snapshot Games. We talk mutating enemies, rival factions and the crabmen's obsession with crates in this new Phoenix Point gameplay. This video was recorded as part of the EGX Rezzed 2019's RPS Sessions, powered by XSplit (https://www.xsplit.com), and supported by RIG Gaming (https://www.plantronics.com/gb/en/gaming) and GamesPlanet (https://uk.gamesplanet.com).
As if it needs saying, this isn’t a Phoenix Point review, but a look at the latest backer build to see how the game is shaping up. We see enemy mutations in full effect, try out the first-person precision aiming and discuss the state of international relations on the Geoscape. The game owes an obvious visual debt to the XCOM reboot, but this is no clone - original X-Com creator Julian Gollop brings lots of quirky strategic DNA to the mix to help give Phoenix Point its own identity, as we discuss in the video. From the use time to govern actions and destructible environments, there are plenty of new tricks you’ll need to learn. But wath our Phoenix Point walkthrough and you’ll have no problem grasping the basics.
