Pikmin 4 Boss 3: Foolix
12The first REAL boss of the game.
Difficulty: 5/10
It's not exactly hard there's no time limit and I beat it with no deaths but this is an honest to goodness proper boss fight. There's two ways to go about fighting this boss. Either send in your ice pikmin to freeze it then break the frozen liquid and rush down foolix or when the tail emerges charge a squadron onto the tail to rip it out of the liquid body.
Now the easier way is obviously ice pikmin but I don't really like that method because it's not that exciting and more importantly it's very risky and can get your pikmin killed because there's no real indicatar as to how long inside Foolix is too long. Either way the boss will either try to use it's body to slide around the room, flatten out to catch a lot of pikmin, or as a defensive measure break off it's liquid then have it slowly converge back in trapping any pikmin caught in the remains.
It's not exactly the flashiest boss in the series but it's surprisingly engaging and as far as tutorial bosses in pikmin go this one is probably the best of the bunch.
