When you first open up the app it will be set at light theme, but if you tap the settings button in the top right corner of your screen and then tap "Dark Theme" at the bottom of that menu, you can change it to a darker setting for reading pins without straining your eyes or making your phone hot. In addition, there is an option called "Light Dark Theme." This will give you both options--light and dark--at every time of day. And when using this option there's also a slider bar so that you can find just the right brightness level for viewing.
