The hit registration "problems" on high speeds is a common community excuse for Master Modes. Although, Yogi specifically mentioned that MM is trying to address the gameplay issues only. To check if there are any technical problems with speeds with the current LIVE model we performed a series of tests.

Testing reveals the following
1) PIP is not a lie, projectiles are. It doesn't matter if projectiles hit the ship - it's nothing but a visual. This "hit" won't be translated into damage. The actual hit registration is done by prediction algorithms completely decoupled from the visual client-side projecties. And digging into the code confirms that Star Citizen relies on ballistic prediction algorithms in some form.
2) Speed is irrelevant. Hit registration on higher ship velocities is no less consistent that on a lower ones.
