Dive into Hand of Fate, a brand new deck-building, action RPG from Defiant Development, with Steven! Hand of Fate is a hybrid card game where you build a deck of cards and then play against the deck you built (with some nasty surprises) as you attempt to take down powerful boss-like face cards. The game is divided into mini campaigns, where you will make your way across the board, acquiring weapons and armor, facing off against enemies, and testing your mettle (and luck) against various encounters. Battles are played out in real time, as you take direct control of your hero to dish out a hearty serving of pain to whatever combatants rise to challenge you. As you play and your deck expands, so too will the resources available to the enemy, making each playthrough more and more challenging. Despite glitches, flaws in the game design, and a poorly made menu system, Hand of Fate’s unique and original concept is well worth the price of admission.
