Pizza Tower: Part 1: Opening & Tutorial
8BEHOLD! My very first Wario Land playthrough on this channel! Except it's not actually Wario Land, but it oh-so-lovingly wears that game series, as well as cartoons like Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, on its sleeves!
In this game by McPig's Tour De Pizza, you play as an anxious middle-aged, Italian pizza pub owner, Peppino Spaghetti. One day, just when he thought things couldn't get worse on his bad loans and crippling debts, he had a surprise visit from a pizza-faced madman named... Pizzaface!
Pizzaface is planning to use a huge laser from his place, the Pizza Tower, itself, to blow up Peppino Pizza. Why? Because he can!
This totally freaked Peppino out, and he rushed all the way over to Pizza Tower in an effort to stop that laser. He will be joined by the likes of a fellow Mario-esque employee named Gustavo, and a businessman named Mr. Stick will also be interested in doing business with him.
The Pizza Tower itself will be of many locales to travel through, and a huge assortment of wild, wacky weirdos to wreck through!

The Pizza Tower itself is ran like a hub. The hub is split into 5 different floors containing their 5 levels each: Usually 4 regular levels, and a boss level to finish it off.
For now, this video focuses on to Tutorial that teaches you how to play the game. If you know how to play Wario Land 4 (at the least among those games), you'll get a pretty good feel of how these controls will work in this game.
The goofy-eyed pizza that talks to you through the tutorial and the hub is Pizza Granny. She will teach you most (but not all) of Peppino's moves throughout the Tutorial, which involves a lot of ways the guy can move and jump through the stage. This will be one of the funniest things you'll get out of this game once you've mastered his movement options.
Especially so, his Mach Run. At Level 2, Peppino will bash right through Metal Blocks. If you hold Forward for a couple seconds during Mach 2, you'll achieve Mach 3 where he goes crazy fast, but turning will bring this back down to Mach 2.
Another big thing in this game is looking for Toppins. These are living, moving pizza toppings with googly eyes. Find them in cages and free them and they'll follow you around to the end of the stage, where you'll get some cash that you'll need to pay Mr. Stick with.
At the end of every stage is a Pillar John. Knock him away to trigger Pizza Time. The music gets urgent and goes HARD, and you'll have to make your way back out the stage from where you came in. For now, there's no penalty for still being in the tutorial for as long as you want, but there is a secret things you can unlock if you go through the tutorial fast enough.

Back at the hub, you start in the Tower Lobby. This Pizza Tower is full of rats, huge, Stupid Rats, and one of them won't stop chasing down poor Gustavo!
Each hub floor has a secret room that you have to charge into with Mach 2 Run. These secret rooms often stash away scrapped concepts and characters that were in earlier builds (and dear god, this game has *so many earlier builds!*).
Tower Lobby's secret room, for example, has an earlier design for Pillar John, a stationary Cheeseslime, even a scrapped boss called the Cheese Dragon.
You'll also see Pizza Granny on these hub floors to give you further advice on additional moves, but other times... she'll instead give you snide and jackass remarks, among other things.
Lastly, you can change the colors of Peppino's clothes. Doing certain tasks unlock these different colors and patterns. I've already started playing this game on a completely separate file, but they all follow the same number of alts unlocked.
