343Sequel Syndrome is something that affects many games and Planet Coaster 2 is suffering from it. Let's take 8 minutes to explore the issue, what Frontier might do next and how that might lead to Planet Coaster 3 earlier than they had planned.
Following on from other "disastrous" sequel releases like Cities Skylines 2, The Sims 4, Sim City 2013, Prison Architect and now Civilization 7 (which is having mixed reviews but ultimately categorised as "under-baked"), Planet Coaster 2 also over promised and under-delivered - it wrote a cheque it couldn't cash. This means that Frontier now have to enter into crisis mode to fix the game they ultimately released too early and jeopordise the long-term performance of the game based on short term decisions.
So, let's look at why that was the case and how they could fix it.
